Several CARICOM leaders and representatives from international institutions are touring hurricane-ravaged communities in St. James and Westmoreland and as part of a goodwill mission.
The international agencies participating in the visit include the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, the Development Bank of Latin America, Regional Security System, the World Bank as well as the Inter-American Development Bank.
The CARICOM delegation will meet with Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Honess and local leaders to assess recovery efforts and support regional coordination on relief and reconstruction.
Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Brown, who will be among the group, has encouraged to regional and international partners to support Jamaica's recovery efforts including through CARICOM and channels, development agencies and multilateral institutions.
