The three cops and two civilians accused of the 2009 killing of Robert Hill, popularly known as "Kentucky Kid", were freed on Tuesday afternoon in the Home Circuit Court.
Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn informed the court that she was withdrawing the case, as there was no evidence linking the five to the murder of Mr Hill.
The three cops - Corporal Uriel Anderson, and Constables Gary Thomas and Norval Warren - were charged last month following a ruling by a Coroners jury.
Mr Hill's ex-girlfriend, Marvia Morgan, a senior manager at the HEART Trust/NTA and his cousin, Donovan Brown, were also charged.
Mr Hill was shot dead by the police during a reported shoot-out at his Ivy Green Mews home in Kingston on December 8, 2009.
The human rights organization, Jamaicans for Justice, had accused the cops of executing Mr Hill, who had previously reported to the authorities that there was a plan to kill him.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) also monitored the case.
