Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, labelled as a ruthless drug kingpin by the American Government, will learn how many years he will spend in a US federal prison on Friday March 16, 2012
US-based Defence Attorney, Wayne Golding, says the proceedings are scheduled to get underway at 1 o'clock Jamaica time.
Coke was extradited on gun running and drug charges which carry a possible life sentence.
He had initially pleaded not guilty and was preparing for trial.
However, last August he struck a deal and pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy, and conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.
For this he faces a statutory maximum of 23 years.
Last September, Coke wrote a seven-page letter to Judge Patterson, accepting responsibility for his actions, and asking that he be sentenced below the guidelines.
But US prosecutors responded in a 30 page memorandum that recommended the maximum sentence for him.
Coke has been in custody in the US since June 2010, after waiving his rights to an extradition hearing
