A probe into the cause of this morning's fire on Royal Caribbean's 'Freedom of the Seas' cruise ship at the Falmouth Pier in Trelawny is now in progress.
A crew member sustained first degree burns and was treated on the ship.
Four units from the Montego Bay, Falmouth and St Ann's Bay fire stations and a fire boat from Ocho Rios responded to the blaze, which began about 8:30 on Wednesday morning. By the time the local response units arrived, however, an emergency team on board had already extinguished the blaze.
The fire reportedly started in the engine room.
Passengers were evacuated to a safe section of the vessel.
