A 48-hour curfew has been instituted in several policing areas within the Westmoreland Division.
The curfew is in effect in Negril, in the White Hall community, Bethel Town, Darliston, Frome, Grange Hill, Savanna-la-Mar and White House.
The curfew began Monday at 6 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The police say the aim of the curfew is to maintain public order.
During the hours of the curfew, persons within the mentioned areas are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the person in charge of enforcement.
