Dancehall producer Shab Don, born Linval Thompson, has been found not guilty of breaching the Corruption Prevention Act.
The ruling was handed down Monday afternoon in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court following a trial which began on February 19.
Prosecutors had alleged that Thompson offered $2 million to a police officer in October 2021 to remove an illegal firearm from his Mercedes-Benz before it was searched.
However, presiding judge Alwayne Smith acquitted the producer after finding inconsistencies in the prosecution’s evidence.
Thompson was represented by attorney Donahue Martin.
