Death toll from garment factory fire in Pakistan now at 246

At least 246 people reportedly died in a fire at a garment factory in Karachi, Pakistan.

Many others were injured in the blaze which began at the four storey building on Tuesday night.

Reports say that the fire may have started due to faulty electricity generators.

Medical officials said  most of the victims died of suffocation.

At least 65 employees suffered from broken bones after jumping from the building to escape the blaze.
