Radio Jamaica Sports understands that 2023 Jamaica Premier League (JPL) champions Mount Pleasant FA are close to acquiring a club in Belgium. It's understood that the ownership of Mount Pleasant led by Peter Gould, is on the cusp of completing the purchase of Belgian third Division club RAEC Mons.
Renaissance Albert Elizabeth Club de Mons which was founded in 1945, currently plays in the Belgian first amateur division and will open their season on August 17 in the Belgian Cup.
Radio Jamaica Sports also understands that Mount Pleasant FA captain Sue-Lae McCalla along with striker Nicholas Nelson and winger Devontae Campbell could be joining RAEC Mons this summer.
A highly-placed source at Mount Pleasant told Radio Jamaica Sports that an official announcement on the purchase of the Belgian club could come in the next 48 hours.
