Dental surgeons employed to the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Regional Health Authorities have taken industrial action.
This follows a breakdown of negotiations between the Ministries of Health and Finance and the more than 80 doctors represented by the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees.
UCASE says negotiations have been ongoing since last year but the offers made to the dental surgeons are unsatisfactory.
The union says the doctors, who have been waiting for a meeting with the Ministry of Finance since April 2023, have decided that they have waited long enough and have taken industrial action starting Monday morning.
The doctors are calling for the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Health to intervene in the dispute, which they have described as discriminatory and inadequate.
