Dominica: PM requests assistance from French authorities in an abduction matter

The Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, has called for the French authorities to lend assistance in the search for a 12-year-old school girl who was abducted from her home on Tuesday night.

Mr. Skerrit, who is in the United States attending the Summit of the Americas conference, said he wanted to re-assure the family of Kernisha Etienne that the entire country is with them.

Mr. Skerrit, speaking on the state-owned DBS radio, said he has been in touch with his National Security Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore, who yesterday urged the police to descend on every "suspected area" where they believe the child is being held.
