Donovan Mitchell to be sworn in as Mandeville mayor

Donovan Mitchell, the People's National Party Councillor for the Royal Flat division in Manchester Central, is to be sworn in as Mandeville's new mayor.
  
Mr. Mitchell, who won his division in the November 28 local government election by more than 200 votes, was selected at a caucus of PNP councillors on Monday.
  
Ervin Facey, who won the Spur Tree division in Manchester North Western, was again selected deputy mayor.
  
The PNP now holds a nine to six majority over the JLP in the Manchester Municipal Corporation, down from 11 to four.

Morant Bay

In the meantime, Lenworth Rawle, Councillor for the Trinityville division, is to be the new Mayor of Morant Bay.
  
James Robertson, Member of Parliament for St. Thomas Western, made the disclosure Monday morning.
  
Following the Local Government Election, the St. Thomas Municipal Corporation ended in a tie with the PNP and JLP winning five divisions each.
