Dr. Winston De La Haye to represent the PNP in St. Catherine East Central

 

Dr. Winston De La Haye, a former Chief Medical Officer of Jamaica, is about to enter representational politics on the ticket of the opposition People’s National Party (PNP).

Dr. De La Haye confirmed on Sunday in an interview with RJR News that he will represent PNP in the constituency of St. Catherine East Central in the next general election. The seat is currently held by the Jamaica Labour Party's Alando Terrelonge.

The new candidate said he had already begun campaigning, while conceding that “there’s a significant amount work to be done,” in order to be successful.

He boasted that he had “an excellent team in place,” with more persons being added, in order to send “a clear message that we come to tek di seat!”

Dr. De La Haye is currently deputy dean of the Faculty of  Medical Sciences at the University of  the West Indies, Mona.
