The Education Ministry has issued recommendations following an incident at the Vauxhall High School in which a student's hair was cut after he was held by three teachers.
Chief among the Education Ministry's recommendations is that the vacant post of Dean of Discipline be filled in the shortest possible time.
The ministry is also recommending that the school contacts the family of the student to determine if he wishes to remain at Vauxhall or be transferred to another public education institution.
The ministry is reviewing written reports and other statements on the matter.
It had asked that they be submitted by today.
The ministry said the statements should be used by the school board to determine if any administrative sanctions will be applied to the three male teachers.
RJR News earlier reported that the teachers had been charged by the police. They will appear before the St. Andrew Parish Court next Thursday.
