Emily Maddison is to represent Jamaica in the global Miss Universe pageant in November.
She was crowned the 2018 Miss Universe Jamaica at the coronation show held at the Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston last night and walked away with more than $1 million in cash and prizes l.
Emily also took home the sectional prizes for best in swimwear, best in evening gown, most photogenic and most active on social media.
The 19-year-old who appeared to be the crowd favourite from the beginning, sealed her place in the top three during the question and answer segment when she said her inexperience was her best quality.
She explained that, at 19 years old, her youth allows her the opportunity to face each situation as a challenge as she rarely knows what to expect.
Her answer triggered thunderous applause.
Kayla Smith and Khadijah Anderson rounded out the top three with Anderson placing second and Smith third.
