Emotional testimony from sister of murdered man as Kartel trial continues

An emotional testimony from witness number two dominated Thursday’s proceedings in the murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused.

The sister of Clive 'Lizard' Williams – who was murdered in August, 2011 - testified that on August 14 she gave her brother J$3,000 and warned him to leave the community of Waterford in the central parish of St. Catherine as it was said that his life was danger.

During the cross examination the witness said when she spoke to her brother a day later, his location was not known. She testified that she also spoke to him the following day but was unable to contact him later on, despite several attempts to do so.  Based on this, she reported to the police that he was missing.

The witness broke down in tears on more than one occasion during the cross-examination, saying that she initially feared going to the police station to lodge the report.
