Residents of Fairy Hill, Portland staged a protest in the community on Monday morning over an ongoing dust nuisance and water shortage in the area.
Students and other residents experienced lengthy delays due to the road blocks.
The Fairy Hill residents took to the streets from as early as 6 o'clock to complain that the dust is affecting their health.
"If we inhale this dust everyday, by no time we just aguh drop a grung and dead, so we a ask fi some help," resident Christopher Senior pleaded.
"Me a ask unuh fi come in and please just come on board and try to assist us in every way. We need a good road, which in unuh a carryout a road project but we see unuh a tek tings fi granted. We need some water - more than some water - we need a lot of water," he added.
The residents say they have not had water in the community for at least a month, and whenever the road is wet, it dries quickly and the dust nuisance returns.
The road in the community is being worked on as part of the Southern Coastal Highway project, but it has not yet been paved.
