Four of five farm workers who were sent home early from the Overseas Employment Programme in Canada have agreed to provide written statements to the Ministry of Labour & Social Security as part of investigation into their claims of victimisation.
The farm workers returned to Jamaica on August 8, prior to the expiration of their contract.
Labour Minister Pearnel Charles Jr and senior ministry officials met with the four workers on Friday and encouraged them to share all relevant information that could assist in the investigation of the matter.
The ministry said the fifth worker indicated that he was unable to attend the meeting.
The repatriated men were among a group of Jamaican farm workers in Ontario Canada who stayed off the job for a day to protest poor living conditions. Mr Charles had ordered an immediate investigation of the issue.
