The Electoral Office of Jamaica has confirmed that the final counting of ballots for seven constituencies has been completed with the results unchanged.
This, as the final count for the 63 constituencies continues following the September 3 general election.
The ECJ says up to 3 p.m. Friday, the final count was completed for St. James North Western, St. James West Central, St. Elizabeth North Western, Manchester North Western, Manchester North Eastern, St. Andrew North Eastern and St. Andrew Western.
The election oversight body says that the counting of ballots will continue to into late Friday evening and over the weekend under the supervision of the returning officers and in the presence of the candidates and or their representatives.
Approximately 57% of ballot boxes have already been counted.
The EOJ is appealing to the public for patience as the process unfolds in keeping with the Representation of the People Act.
It says further updates will be provided on Saturday.
Both the Jamaica Labour Party and the People's National Party are keeping a close watch on the two seats that were won by a razor thin margin - Kingston Central and St. Mary South Eastern.
In St. Mary South Eastern, the PNP's Chris Brown edged the Jamaica Labour Party's Norman Dunn by 11 votes, while the PNP's Steve McGregor marginally beat the JLP's Donovan Williams by 12 votes in Kingston Central.
