Finance Minister Fayval Williams says the ministry is making arrangements to meet with the island's junior doctors to discuss the concerns raised by them in a letter to the ministry.

Junior doctors served an ultimatum on the Ministries of Health and Wellness and Finance and the Public Service for discussions on overtime remunerations to be concluded today, or they would not be able to guarantee normality in the service.

Minister Williams told Radio Jamaica News on Thursday afternoon, that she received the letter today and the parties are to meet.

In the letter to the Minister, President of the Jamaica Medical Doctors' Association, Dr. Renee Badroe, expressed frustration that another meeting with the Ministries and Regional Health Authorities, held Wednesday, failed to yield any meaningful progress.

Dr. Badroe said the representatives were informed that the doctors were not prepared to accept further delay, which they view as a breach of trust.
