The People's National Party has expressed sadness and shock at the passing of a former cabinet Minister and Member of Parliament, Horace Clarke.
Mr. Clarke died on Saturday night in hospital where he had been since Friday after suffering a stroke.
He was 75 years old.
In a statement, PNP President and Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller said she is aggrieved at the news of the former politician's passing.
According, Mrs. Simpson-Miller, Mr. Clarke devoted his life in service to the people of St. Mary and the country as a whole.
Mrs. Simpson-Miler says she will personally miss him and extend condolences to family.
The party leader notes that Mr. Clarke was one of the main fundraisers for the Party and played a critical role in the Party acquiring the premises at 89 Old Hope Road, the home of its Headquarters.
And Opposition Spokesman on Agriculture, Roger Clarke also heaped praises on the former Member of Parliament.
Roger Clarke succeeded Horace Clarke as Minister of Agriculture in the PNP administration.
