Former member of Parliament for East Portland Sam Lawrence is dead.
Lawrence who was elected to the House of Representatives in 1989 and retired in 1997, served as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Development, Planning & Production. He was 73.
Sam Lawrence who remained active in politics until his death, was present at National Executive Council meeting of the governing People's National Party in Trelawny on Sunday.
He is survived by his widow Lois Layne-Lawrence.
