Former JTA president Paul Adams found alive after being reported missing

The St. James police have confirmed that former president of the Jamaica Teachers' Association, Paul Adams, who went missing Monday night, was found alive Monday afternoon.
 
Mr. Adams, the principal of Herbert Morrison Technical High, was found along the main road in Garland and Spring Mount in St. James sometime after 3 o'clock.
 
An alarm was raised Sunday night when Mr. Adams failed to return home on his way from St. Elizabeth.
 
The concerns were heightened when he did not turn up for work on Monday.
 
There are conflicting reports as to what happened to Mr. Adams.
 
But Radio Jamaica News was informed that the principal told investigators that he was abducted by a male and female he picked up in the Garland area on Sunday night.
 
He said he was knocked unconscious after the woman administered a foreign substance to his face.
 
Members of the police and military found a Suzuki Vitara motor vehicle belonging to Mr. Adams in a ditch in the area.
 
Speaking with Radio Jamaica News at the scene, Mr. Adams thanked police officers and members of Jamaica Defence Force who played a crucial part in getting him to safety. 
 
"God a God, and mi pleased [with] the officers as usual, on target, on time, on call, immediately come fi mi," he said, adding that he prayed for his family, friends and students while stuck in the ditch. 
 
Head of the St. James Police Vernon Ellis said an investigation has been launched into the incident.
