Four shot, two dead in Old Harbour

A search is on for gunmen who went on a shooting spree on Thursday night, leaving a couple dead and two others injured in Old Harbour, St. Catherine.

Those killed have been identified as Ellowin Richards, 51, and her common law husband, Rohan Daley, 49.

The injured persons have been hospitalised in serious condition.

Investigators say a feud between rival gangs began at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, when a taxi operator was shot and injured at a bar along Burke Road in Old Harbour.

In reprisal, gunmen invaded a house in the community of Africa and fatally shot Miss Richards and Mr. Daley. A third occupant was also shot.

Deputy Superintendent Neville Knight, Commander of the Old Harbour Police, said two rival gang leaders who go by the aliases Bobby Lexus and Roof Two are behind the violence. They have been listed as Persons of Interest.

DSP Knight said the gang leaders have been engaged in a deadly feud over the last two years.

The violence flared up on Sunday when the common law wife of Bobby Lexus was fatally shot.

The police are maintaining a strong presence in Africa and Burke Road as the gunmen are now targeting relatives of the gang members.
