An e-mail claiming responsibility for the incident was sent to several media outlets on Friday, signed by a group unknown to French security services, called 'an unexpected delegation'.
The text equates the development of the rail network with colonialism and also denounces the Olympic Games.
But Minister Darmanin cautioned on Monday that the letter might be inauthentic.
