The St. Catherine North Police are on Wednesday afternoon continuing to process two crime scenes following what is suspected to be the execution of one of the division's most wanted.
Reputed gang leader, Navardo Hodges, also known as DJ, linked to the Clansman Gang, was found dead on Wednesday morning in Spanish Town.
Hodges' head was found in one location before what is believed to be his torso was discovered in another section of the town.
Hodges has been linked to at least 12 killings in and around Spanish Town during his reign of terror.
An integral member of the feared Clansman gang, it is felt that his demise follows a major falling out in the gang, during which he is said to have killed the sister of reputed leader Tesha Miller as well as a close friend of Miller's mother.
Just after four o'clock Wednesday morning, the police received a report that a man's head was seen in the Sagicor Commercial Building at the centre of the Old Capital.
The police rushed to the scene and discovered that the head with a gunshot wound in the middle of the forehead, typical of gangland style killings, was that of Hodges.
Hours later a decapitated body was found along the Spanish Town By pass and the police theorise it is that of Hodges.
The police believe he was killed in the area and his body dragged across the road and the head taken to the Sagicor Commercial Centre.
“Hodges would have been a top tier member of the Clansman Gang who have been wanted in the two divisions, St. Catherine North and South for serious crimes to include murders committed over a protracted period of time. We are yet to identify the body, that will have to be done to ascertain the true identity. We are just saying that it is suspected to be that of Navardo Hodges,” said Senior Superintendent Anthony Castelle, head of the St. Catherine North Police Division.
Hodges, said to be in his early 20's, was also wanted for the recent shootout involving gunmen and the police near the St. Jago High School.
The police had placed a $500,000 reward for his capture after he eluded several dragnets.
