Agriculture Minister Floyd Green
Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says the government will be injecting resources to drive exports.
This follows recent data showing a widening trade deficit, as well as shifts in trade globally and the new tariff regime of the Trump administration.
Minister Green says export clinics have been launched to maximise potential.
"We are going to implement this year, Madam Speaker, an export incentive programme, aimed at supporting large volume exporters, new exporters, small and medium scale exporting farmers and agriprocessors. Under this initiative, beneficiaries will receive amnesty waivers on costs associated with phytosanitary certificates," he announced.
Minister Green was making his contribution to the sectoral debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
