The annual Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) gets underway today, with 40,676 students scheduled sit the two-day exam at 1,135 centres across the island.
Students will be assessed in critical areas of the primary school curriculum, including mathematics, social studies, language arts, science and communication task.
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that there is no major change to the administration of this year's test.
Schools operating as examination centres will be closed on both days to minimise distraction to candidates, and provision will be made to accommodate students with special needs.
