Gully cleaning programme launched in Montego Bay

A major gully cleaning and maintenance programme is set to get underway in Montego Bay, St. James shortly.

Over 200 residents of Canterbury and North Gully, two inner city communities in Montego Bay will participate in the programme.

Under the project the residents will be employed to clean and maintain a community gully which serves Salt Spring, Glendevon, Canterbury and North Gully.

The clean up which will take place over a three month period, is aimed at removing domestic waste and debris which pose a threat to the environment and the health of residents.

The programme is being spearheaded by the Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP) of the Ministry of National Security.
