The Haitian women who were in the custody of the St. Elizabeth police since August after paying fines for illegal entry were released on Friday.
Missclaine Andemette, 43, and Odanette Ystal, 37, were released at midday after being processed by immigration officers.
This follows representation by attorney Thomas Levene.
The women, who have been in Jamaica for several years, have applied for asylum.
The Haitians reportedly remained in lock-up in St. Elizabeth due to the failure of the court to instruct immigration personnel to relocate them to a holding area outside the parish while their applications are being processed.
