Head of the Contrabond Enforcement Team, CET, Omar Guyah, who was arrested on Friday March 9, is to be interrogated by the police on Wednesday March 14.
Lawyers for Mr Guyah, who is also the Principal Customs Officer at the Customs Department, filed a writ before the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Monday March 12 demanding his release from police custody.
However, investigators from the Revenue Protection Division, told the Court that Mr Guyah will be questioned in the presence of his attorneys on Wednesday.
Mr Guyah was arrested by detectives from the Revenue Protection Division in connection with an alleged multi million dollar racket in which motor vehicles imported into the country were illegally disposed of by the Customs Department.
His arrest followed a one year investigation by the RPD into the illegal sale of motor vehicles by Customs.
The racket is said to have caused millions of dollars in revenue losses to the government.
Mr Guyah is being represented by defence attorney Bert Samuels.
