Dr. Fenton Ferguson
Health Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson has requested an estimate of the cost of erecting a perimeter fence at the Annotto Bay Hospital in St Mary.
Ferguson told nurses at the hospital on Friday, that the Ministry is concerned about the security of workers at the institution.
It followed an incident this week in which a nurse was held up and robbed by a gunman.
On Thursday,nurses at the hospital staged a sit in to protest Wednesday's incident.
The nurses say there have been similar incidents on the compound this year.
Meanwhile., interim arrangements are being made to ensure the safety of workers at the hospital
Ferguson said discussions are being held with the Police and a security company to address weaknesses in the current system.
