The government is taking steps to make it easier to register a business in Jamaica.
Legislation was passed in the House of Representatives Tuesday to amend the Companies Act.
This will create a "One Stop Shop" for registering a company or business name.
At present persons who want to register a company have to visit several agencies for the process to be completed.
Anthony Hylton, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, in closing the debate on the Bill on Tuesday, said the legislation was long in coming.
