The police have increased their presence in Maverley, St. Andrew following Thursday night's attack which left three people dead and three others wounded.

One of the deceased has been identified as Demoy Mills of Moberly Avenue, Kingston 20.

The other two men are yet to be identified.

The incident took place shortly before 10 o'clock.

Following the incident, a shootout ensued between the gunmen and a police team.

The gunmen fled leaving the getaway car.

Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson is optimistic that investigators will make a breakthrough in the case.

"We have some leads as to who may have been involved in this and we have the car in our custody at the moment, so we will be applying all of our scientific techniques to that car and also checking on the JamaicaEye system to see where that car was, where it came from. So, we have a lot of work to do on this, but I feel pretty confident that the team will capture these people," he said.

The police have linked the shooting to a gang feud in Maverley.
