President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Dr Donovan Bennett has sought to allay all fears surrounding the readiness of Sabina Park for the day/night test between the West Indies and Australia starting this weekend.

In a Jamaica Observer article on Monday, opposition spokesperson on sports Wavell Hinds raised questions about whether the lights will be approved for the pink ball game, citing that days before the first ball is bowled there have yet to be any certification by Cricket West Indies or the ICC.

On Tuesday, Dr Bennett gave an update on the remaining work being done. With the teams to have their practice at the venue starting on Wednesday, Dr Bennett was asked what would happen if the players are not comfortable after the final focusing.

Meanwhile, with three days to go before the start of the test match, Dr Bennett is not encouraged by the ticket sales so far. The West Indies will have their first training session at Sabina Park on Wednesday from 2:00-5:00 pm.
