Reggae Boy King unveiled by Scottish side St Mirren

Reggae Boyz defender Richard King was unveiled as a St Mirren FC player in Scotland on Tuesday after agreeing a two-year deal with the Saints.

The former Cavalier SC player has signed a deal until 2027, with the Scottish club holding an option to extend for a further year. King's deal with St Mirren is worth approximately £250,000 or just over JMD 54 million. His arrival at St Mirren was initially delayed due to visa issues which have now been sorted out.

St Mirren ended 6th in last season's Scottish Premiership. King spent 4 seasons with cavalier dating back to 2021 in which time he played 90 games for the 4-time reigning Jamaican Premier League champions and scored 6 goals.

The 23 year old former Clarendon College standout helped Cavalier to win the JPL title in 2021, as well as the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons.

Cavalier's other National Premier League title was won in the 1980-81 season. King has played 31 matches for the Reggae Boyz including his most recent outing at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
