Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his Barbadian counterpart Freundel Stuart have discussed the state of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The telephone discussion took place on Wednesday, against the background of two recent incidents related to Jamaican travellers to Barbados.
Prime Minister Stuart agreed that the incidents were unfortunate and he sought a full briefing on each of them.
He gave the assurance that the incidents will be fully investigated, and if any impropriety on the part of Barbadian officials is found, the requisite sanctions would be applied.
The government of Barbados last week said it found no evidence to substantiate allegations that a Jamaican woman and her son were mistreated by immigration officials at the Grantley Adams International Airport in late August.
The Barbados Division of Defence and Security, which conducted a probe into the claim, published a detailed statement in the Nation newspaper.
