Jamaica to be removed from Germany's COVID-19 risk countries tomorrow

Jamaica will be removed from Germany's list of COVID-19 risk countries tomorrow.

Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright, in response, has asserted that this is good news for Jamaica as Germany is the country's second largest European market.

Mr Seiveright says another positive development is that nonstop flights between Frankfurt, Germany and Montego Bay will resume in July.

In less positive news for some other Caribbean states, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago have been added to Germany's Covid risk countries list as areas of new high incidence.

St Lucia has been listed as a new risk area.

Germany expects to fully vaccinate its population by the end of the summer.
