Jamaican convicted for rape in the UK

Another Jamaican has been convicted and sent to prison for rape in the United Kingdom.

The latest convict is 36-year-old Peter Delisser who had been previously deported but returned to the UK using false names.

Delisser was slapped with a five and a half year jail term in the Bristol Crown Court earlier this week.

Convicted on charges of bigamy in 2001 using the name Richard Hutchinson, Delliser was told that he had no respect for women and was a detriment to society.

He was convicted for raping an 18-year-old woman following his release from prison on the bigamy charge.

The British Attorney General is now considering a review of the sentence handed down to 18-year-old Jamaican Rogel McMorris and his two cronies on Monday.

They were convicted of raping a disabled 16-year-old, who had the mental ability of an eight year old.

McMorris was given a nine year custodial sentence for two counts of rape and grievous bodily harm.

His accomplices, 19-year-old Jason Brew and 20-year-old Hector Muaimba were jailed for six years respectively.

However, cries from disabled charities in the UK have argued that the sentences were too lenient and did not reflect the brutality of the attack.

This has resulted in the Attorney General demanding the court papers for a possible review in the Appeal court.

The victim was raped by a gang.

McMorris and his friends laughingly recorded the act on their mobile phones before dousing the girl with caustic soda.

She was left with burns to 50% of her body.
