Jamaican fined after pleading guilty to ganja charges in Barbados

 
A Jamaican man was arrested and charged for drug-related offences in Barbados after he was found with a quantity of ganja. 
 
He is 36-year-old Andre O'Shane Williams of Howells Content, York Town, May Pen in Clarendon. 
 
He was charged with possession of cannabis, trafficking, intent to supply and importation of cannabis. 
 
Mr. Williams was caught with 2.6 kg of ganja last Friday. It has an estimated street value of $28,800 (Barbadian). 
 
Mr. Williams appeared in court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to the offences. 
 
He was fined $15,000 or nine months at the Barbados Prison Service.
