Jamaican man fatally shot by police in California

A Jamaican man, on a work visa, was fatally shot by the police in Tahoe, California on Friday.
 
Vinton Miller, 29, was shot during the pursuit of a suspect in an alleged carjacking.
 
According to California State Parks, about 10 a.m., one of its officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was allegedly stolen in Tahoe City.
 
The high speed chase ended in a crash near Olympic Valley Inn at Palisades Tahoe.
 
Mr. Miller reportedly exited his vehicle armed with a knife and was shot by an officer. He died at the scene.
 
The Placer County Sheriff's Office says it will release more information as the investigation progresses.
