The Jamaica
Defence Force (JDF), will be conducting an island-wide recruitment drive to
boost the numbers in the service.
In a release the JDF said it is looking for people to serve in the third Battalion Jamaica Regiment (National Reserve).
Those seeking entry will serve part time.
The JDF said it is seeking employed young men between the ages of 18 and 28 years, who are able to sit an oral and written examination in Reading, Mathematics, English Language and General Knowledge.
Applicants must have attained at least a minimum education of Grade Nine and must be available for training Thursday evenings, first Sundays, third weekends and for two weeks at an Annual Camp.
The release also states that all applicants will have to undergo a preliminary medical examination and must be medically fit and free from any disability.
