The Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association (JGRA) is now demanding that the report containing the results of the probe into the sale of contaminated fuel be made public, months after it was completed.
The JGRA says it is unfair that consumers who purchased the fuel are being kept in the dark on the outcome of the investigation.
It contends that the lack of disclosure despite assurances by the previous government and current administration, is cause for concern.
The report from the technical committee which investigated the sale of the contaminated fuel was presented to Cabinet. The Consumer Affairs Commission reported that it received more than 300 complaints of the purchase of bad gas.
In June, RJR News reported that advice was being sought from the Attorney General on how the Government should implement the recommendations from the technical committee. At that time, Energy Minister Dr. Andrew Wheatley said compensation was still being considered for affected persons.
