JLP asks political ombudsman to probe conduct of PNP's Dawes

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has written to the Office of the Political Ombudsman, requesting that an investigation be launched into the conduct of People's National Party (PNP) caretaker for South East St. Catherine Dr. Alfred Dawes.

The JLP says the request follows a video posted to Dr. Dawes' social media pages which showed him striding towards the Jamaica Labour Party's headquarters on Belmont Road while wearing an orange-coloured cap.

JLP Deputy General Secretary Senator Charles Sinclair says the video contained gun lyrics from a song which purports to promote criminality and gangsterism.

Senator Sinclair believes that by virtue of advancing on the headquarters of the Jamaica Labour Party and the subsequent social media post, Dr. Dawes has breached the political code of conduct.
