Immediate past president of the JTA Leighton Johnson has said he is awaiting more details in relation to the lawsuit brought against the association by former president La Sonja Harrison.
Mrs. Harrison's lawsuit, filed in July this year, contends that the JTA's special delegates' decision to accept a salary offer from the government, during a virtual meeting in March 2023, was in breach of the association's constitution.
Mrs. Harrison is seeking to nullify the current three-year wage agreement with the government.
Speaking Tuesday on the Morning Agenda, on Power 106, Mr. Johnson said he considers the paper work received a courtesy document.
He said the document was incomplete as there was no date affixed nor a court seal - issues the association's lawyers have pointed out to the attorneys for Mrs. Harrison.
He declined to comment further on the matter, but insisted the JTA will "defend the position of the association".
