Juici fire report next week

By early next week it should be known what was the cause of the fire which on Thursday damaged the building which houses the Juici Patties outlet and other establishments in downtown Kingston.

The owner of  the property at the corner of  West and Beckford Streets, Laurence Heffes, said he has suspicions that the blaze may have been started by thieves.

Mr. Heffes told the RJR News Centre that he believes persons were attempting to break into a number of clothing stores which are on the top floor of the building.

Commissioner of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Laurie Williams, told RJR News that a detailed probe is in progress.

"It will take a while to sift through all the evidence...in another few days we should know the origin of where the fire actually started and that will help us to determine whether the fire was a deliberate act or some failure in service, " the Commissioner told the RJR News Centre.

Reports indicate that the building was partially insured.
