Stacy Knight-Dennis, the daughter of former
parliamentarian K.D. Knight, who was at the centre of a confrontation at the
University Hospital on Tuesday night, has apologised to the nurse she
assaulted.
In a letter to the nurse, Mrs. Knight-Dennis explained that she was overcome with grief and pain and reacted to what she thought was an incorrect procedure in the treatment of her brother.
She said she regretted the incident and asked the nurse to forgive her for the action which occurred due to the pain she felt at losing her only sibling.
RJR News reported Wednesday that 32-year-old Khamal Knight died at the University Hospital on Tuesday night from complications arising from leptospirosis and pneumonia.
Wednesday, the Nurses Association of Jamaica announced that it was pursuing legal action on behalf of the nurse who was reportedly punched by Mrs. Knight-Dennis as she assisted the younger Mr. Knight.
