Despite breathing a sigh of relief on Friday, several
occupants of a condemned building in Cross Roads, Kingston 5 are still facing an ultimate
demise.
On Monday the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) served a five day notice to the tenants of the building.
That notice expired Friday.
Kingston's Town Clerk Errol Green says the KSAC will still carry out the courts directive to have the building demolished within a matter of days.
On Thursday, he met with a group of the small business owners, the majority of whom have been pleading for more time.
The KSAC will be spending $10 million to demolish the building which it says was erected without permission and has been deemed unsafe to occupy.
