Labour and Social Security Ministry boosts technology to improve service delivery

 

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has introduced an enhanced Information Technology infrastructure to increase efficiency in the services delivered.

 

Labour and Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles Jr. says the initiative promotes a responsive labour market and improved delivery of social protection services.

 

These include the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education, programmes for the elderly and persons with disabilities, National Insurance Scheme, Work Permit, Industrial relations, and Employment Services – both locally and overseas.

 

Minister Charles says the Innovation Transformation Project Taskforce will examine the structure, define solutions and guide the fulsome transformation of the Ministry's programmes. 

 

"At the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, our services are customer focused, with the expectation, of course, that the service will be delivered in a timely manner and efficiently. Therefore, it is essential that our human resources, our processes, technology and the physical infrastructure that drives the ministry must be optimal," Mr. Charles explained.
