Laura Trevelyan quits role at BBC weeks after apologising for family’s slave history

Journalist Laura Trevelyan announced yesterday that she will be demitting her post at BBC after 30 years to join the growing movement for reparatory justice for the Caribbean.

The Trevelyan family has been contrite about their ancestors' role in enslaving the people of Grenada. 

The family plans to give £ 100,000 to set up a community fund to help the island's economic condition.
