Leroy Lindsay, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Jamaica, has tendered his resignation, effective today.
Nari Williams-Singh, Deputy Director General - Regulatory Affairs, will act as Director General.
When RJR News contacted Mr Lindsay, he said his resignation was due to personal reason, which will cause him to be away from Jamaica "for a while, to deal with some urgent matters."
Conceding that "it would not be fair to ask the company for the time to deal with it," he said he therefore offered his resignation. This, he said, was done several weeks ago.
The announcement of his resignation was made via a statement from Chairman of the Authority Michael Hylton.
